At the beginning of the summer I began a journey, in collaboration with Microsoft Windows, to bring more mindfulness to my life on the road and to find a better balance between work and me time.
I was presented with the Microsoft Windows powered HP Envy X2 device, a device designed to increase productivity, as it’s fitted with a SIM card making it possible to be connected anywhere and powerful features to, in turn, enable you to do more of the things you love.
A challenge to stay present and find balance on my travels
Earlier this year I faced a huge transition. The last few months have been so significant in my personal journey and I've now teamed up with Microsoft to continue this journey and implement more mindfullness when i'm on the road. :-)Read more on my blog here - https://wheresmollie.com/2018/07/mindfulness-when-travelling/Posted by Where's Mollie? on Friday, 27 July 2018
I have taken my HP EnvyX2 on many an adventure this summer, an easy decision to make when packing because of it’s slimline design and the lack of room it takes up.
As part of the campaign I was lucky enough to have Char Holmes, my friend and superstar yoga teacher, mentor me and pass on her wisdom as and when I needed it. We kept in contact through Skype and I made notes on the device so that I could draw upon particular yoga sequences remotely without getting her on a call.
I honestly think the HP Envy X2 is a great companion if you’re considering a device for your travels. Power it up with a 4G SIM and it’s the dream device to instantly stream music, YouTube videos and podcasts on the go. You can get on top of emails whilst you’re out and about without lugging your laptop around and the 13MP forward facing camera even has you covered for images and video.
I really enjoyed the facial recognition, loved the touch screen and pen integration and absolutely reaped the benefits of having 4G without having to hotspot from my phone – game changer.
It was the internet, accessible whenever and wherever*, that encouraged me to take any 10 minute window I found I had spare and to make it mine. No looking for WiFi, no disconnecting hotspots, all combined with a screen big enough for me to follow an online yoga class or Skype with ease.
Admittedly my schedule and it’s intensity comes in waves and sometimes the last thing I want to do is prioritise time for yoga or listen to a guided meditation. However these are probably the times I really need it most and working on this collaboration with Microsoft Windows really encouraged me to break my habits and develop some healthier ones.
Now that I know how powerful 10 minutes out to breathe / stretch can be, I find myself craving it and it’s become part of my daily routine.
If you use your main laptop, like I do, for advanced photo and video editing, this device won’t replace that – but it’s not meant to. The HP Envy X2 has nailed its niche for those looking to stay connected in a lightweight, easy and fast manner and I know for the shorter trips, for the days out and for even yoga sessions at home – it’s perfect.
