Hot Air Ballooning and Breakfast with Bubbles, Gold Coast

Updated On 25th June, 2018

Ever since 1783 when 3 people first took to the sky in a Hot Air Balloon, it has become an experience common in most peoples bucket lists. Including mine.

I’d daydreamed for years over the sunrise balloon shots in Cappadocia, longing to experience that peaceful sunrise as you float through the skies.

It was every bit as good as i wanted it to be.

Yes we’ve all been in planes and some, helicopters too, but in a hot air balloon you’re totally exposed. Safe in the comforting size and depth of the basket, but exposed like never before. As you inhale the fresh air you can observe your ascent to the clouds in total calm, as the unjoulted movement of the balloon flees to the back of your mind.

It’s truly magical.

I got to experience my first Hot Air Balloon ride in the company of two beautiful friends of mine – Ellie and Rochelle. {They are both freaking awesome human beings so go and check out their work}.

We booked our experience through Hot Air Gold Coast and indulged in a package that combined the balloon flight with a champagne breakfast and wine tasting on O’Reillys Vineyard.

After admiring the world from a magical perspective we picked from freshly cooked pastries, granolas, squeezed juices and the hot breakfast buffet, before putting the world to rights with a glass of bubbles. Once the champagne had been devoured and the view across the Vineyard soaked up, we headed inside the Vineyard to taste the product of the very vines we had gazed upon over breakfast.

It was such a unique and well organised experience, allowing for indulgence and total relaxation.

It’s worth noting that this trip does require a 4am meeting time to allow transfer time to the designated launch site in time for a 6.30/7am flight. But I think it goes without saying, early starts are totally acceptable for airports and hot air balloon rides.

This package is the absolute perfect way to celebrate a special occasion, to treat yourself and your friends or to surprise a loved one. We actually had a guy on our trip that was planning to propose to his girlfriend up in the air!

{The first day we were due to fly, the weather cancelled the trip when we got to the launch site and so we never got to see the engagement! Saying that, it’s really uncommon flights are cancelled. Hot Air Gold Coast are second to Turkey when it comes to the least cancelled flights. They only cancel it if it’s absolutely necessary and if your safety could be at risk. In which case you get a full refund or the option to rebook on your chosen date.}

A cancelled flight costs up to $18,000!
