A Cosy Weekend In Langland Bay, Swansea

One of the biggest perks with my job as a travel blogger is getting to discover and experience places I probably wouldn’t have otherwise chosen, or at least prioritised. Swansea was one of those places.

I’d heard many a good thing about the Welsh town prior to my visit, and each completely lived up to the expectation.

In fact, Swansea totally exceeded my expectations.

Essentials For Exploring Swansea Bay

I’m going to split my trip into a few blog posts because I simply have too many beautiful photos to share and each of the spots I visited, deserve their own spotlight.

First up, Langland Bay and Langland Cove Guest House.

I would return to and recommend Langland Cove Guest House a million times over, seriously.

I find Welsh people super friendly and accommodating as a given, but Carwyn and Sarah {the owners of this B&B} were on another level.

From the home-baked muffins on arrival, the bespoke breakfasts and the abundance of Lonely Planet Travel Guides to hand, all the way to the advice given, the always welcoming smiles received and the attention to detail in the rooms… Langland Cove Guest House was beyond perfect.

We did not want to ever have to leave this place.

Langland Cove Guest House hosts 4 exclusive rooms {one of which was ours, pictured above}, each designed individually and maintained to a very high standard.

The showers are powerful, the beds are SO comfy, the internet is fast, there’s a fridge in the room and there’s robes to snuggle up in after a hot bubble bath.

My favourite part though about coming back from a sea-breezy, crisp-aired walk on the nearby beach  {Langland Bay} wasn’t the hot bath and robes. It was the homemade, unbelievable-every-time treats that were left on the desk to enjoy alongside a cuppa with our in room facilities {hot chocolate on the menu too!}.

It’s always the littlest and relatively inexpensive touches that make a stay unique and memorable for me and Langland Cove Guest House were 10 steps ahead of everything I could have dreamed for.

As for the location, Langland Bay is quite exclusive and in September, when we visited, we were joined by only a handful of people anytime we were on the beach. This made it very calm, peaceful and perfect for a getaway from the City.

There’s a beautiful restaurant worth mentioning on Langland Bay beach front called Langland’s Brasserie. It’s a 5 minute walk from the B&B and I’d highly recommend you order the Salmon Salad and Welsh Cakes for pudding. Whilst you tuck into some seriously delicious food, you can watch over the bay as surfers, stand up paddle boarders and dogs take to the beach.

Suggestions for activities during your stay in Langland Bay, Swansea:

  • Take a walk on the stunning Wales Coastal Path around to Bracelet Bay, Limeslade or the iconic Mumbles Lighthouse {depending how far you want to go}.
  • Mumbles in itself is another day out with the most beautiful of views, ice cream shops and waterfront walks to boast. If you have a whole day to spare I would definitely get up and walk round from Langland Cove to explore Mumbles for the day!
  • Head up to discover the breathtaking Rhossili Bay
  • Take a surf lesson in Caswell Bay!
  • Enjoy a stand up paddle boarding session and discover Mumbles from the water

I hope you loved the photos as much as I loved my stay!

Honestly… If you’re anything like me, you will love it here.

Be it a romantic getaway, a family shenanigan or a solo adventure – Swansea is just stunning and accommodates for all of the above.

What an amazing looking guest house. It looks like a luxury home from home. Love the idea of the fridge too.

    • ah it really was amazing! The luxury of a holiday but the feel of a home 🙂 Yes – the fridge meant we could store some snacks 🙂

Hi Mollie! Just discovered the blog and I love it!

It’s consolidated my decision to go travelling once I finish uni and I plan on starting a blog just like you did; here’s to hoping I can be as successful as you XD
Particularly liked this blog and the next one as I’m from Swansea, so I had a real connection with it. Although one comment, the long full-size portrait pics in this post don’t work that well with me; just involves a lot of scrolling to get to the focal point, be it your face or whatever. But it could just be me reading it on my Mac. Landscape pics seem to be much better.

Keep up the good work! I love the guide type nature of your blog (what to take, what to do, tips/tricks etc.) – works really well, especially with travel newbies such as myself!
